Dr. Kimberly DeSimone, professor in the Jandoli School of Communication at 51����, will be honored Sept. 14 with a Woman of Influence Award from Buffalo’s Business First.

Two aspiring physicians – Ayushi Jain and Caroline Rozanski – have been named Ideal Bonaventure Students for the Class of 2023.

51���� students won their district in a national advertising competition for the first time Friday in New York City.

Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor of journalism and mass communication, served as co-host this week for a series of videos by the American Battlefield Trust covering the story of the Civil War battle of Chancellorsville in central Virginia. May 1-5 marks the 160th anniversary of the battle.

Jandoli School of Communication Dean Aaron Chimbel moderated a panel at the Broadcast Education Association conference titled “Building Trust: an ethical discussion about journalism in local communities.”

Breaking from tradition, 51���� has selected two degree candidates as student speakers at this year’s Commencement Exercises, to be held Sunday, May 14, in the university’s Reilly Center.

Two 51���� professors have been honored by their colleagues with awards of excellence for the 2022-23 academic year. Dr. Pauline Hoffmann, associate professor of communication, was awarded the Professional Excellence in Community Service Award, while Dr. Adam Brown, professor of elementary education, was awarded the university’s Professional Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dozens of students and advisers from 12 area high schools attended the Jandoli School of Communication’s 2023 Communications Day at 51���� Friday, April 21.
