Pruitt showcases groundbreaking sex offense grooming assessment at conference

Dr. Doyle Pruitt, program director of the program and associate professor of Social Work, presented on the assessment measure she and her colleagues developed at the annual Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abuse conference in Orlando, Florida, Sept. 15-17. The presentation, titled "The validation and application of the Sex Offense Grooming Assessment (SOGA)," was part of a two-person panel showcasing innovative measures designed to assess adults who cause sexual harm. Pruitt鈥檚 work on sexual grooming has received nationwide attention, has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals, and is the basis of the book, "Child sexual grooming: Untangling myth from reality to prevent the harm of child sexual abuse," published in 2025 by the Safer Society Press.
